Meeting other gay rock climbers

Hello,

Thank you for setting up this group. (I was just about to start one and found this as I did search on sport section)

I am very interested in making contacts regarding climbing.

I climb both rock and Ice routes, (mixed pitch need a definite reason for doing)
I mostly do trad climbing, sport when the route is bolted ( I prefer that top-rope/trad routes are left unbolted and fail to see the desire for drilling the rock)

I do enjoy multi-pich routes. I have never done big wall climbing thou I am open to it.
I prefer free-climbing thou I train basic aid techniques to ensure that I can go ahead with aid should it be required.
I do top-rope soloing and rope-leading-soloing - self rescue and I can gain mileage while my mates are stuck in the office.
I do practice climbing down techniques as well as other self rescue stuff.

I do prefer to carry "more than bare minimal" gear on route.

Technically I can try a grade 6 / WI4 on toprope. Drop one grad and you get what I am comfortable with to lead.

My trad protection gear:
1* set of nuts
1* set of hex
1* set of tri-cams
3* ballnuts (looking to upgrade to full set or even double set)
2* link cam
2* cams

PS I have a very low oppinion on beal ropes. I had edliner I that broke a mantle after ~10 weaks of easy use. (I had to cut the rope from 70m to 60m)
Both strands of mantle were frayed so it was just their standard (poor) quality.

I am planning a visit to korouoma (posio / Finland) around easter 2012 so if anyone is interested I could take a de-tour to north sweden before/after?

Planning to visit North Norway in summer 2012
trip to alps in summer 2012 is an option (thou not yet planned).
trip to europe is under planning so climbing gear would be just one extra bag.

I have not heard of european group.

I feel the key issue is to get info out on regular climbing forums. Before this .. I feel we have to consider what is the desired way to organize things.

A) create (if possible) a gay subsection to excicting forum. -- Would require a subsection for this.. I don't know how interested forums are to create sutch section. Also some forums might have restriction about marketin other forums.

B) create a independend site and forum (as above) -- takes a significant effort to setup and ongoing errort to moderate forums , organize site and hopefully events. I might be interested in trying my hands on this.. I have to think about it.

C) Use this forum and market it on regular climbing forums? I'dont know how people feel about registering on a dating site to gain axcess to gay climbing forum? or how forums might feel about spreading the message - I guess they might be ok since we are talking about quite specific subset of climbers.

D) other options??

One gamble option is to organize an event / get together and work from there.
