M******wMastodon...such a great band.
I really like the first 2 full albums, Leviathan and Remission which are full of really hmm loud songs.
It's hard to describe their sound. I guess you have to hear it. Elements of thrash metal, stoner rock, Alternative, hard rock and progressive rock all combined together.
Great live band too.
And than the 3rd album came: Blood Mountains, which i didn't like at all. Some songs are ok and some were terrible.
So last year cam Crack The Skye, which i didn't like at first. Friends of mine loved it straight away.
So there i am, in a record store, seeing this new release on vinyl which has superb artwork!

I bought it and i am hooked since. Great album!
More normal vocals instead and the muasic is more structured and open / transparant in sound.
In other words, more mature.

Scotscub57 yrshi Jake I'm like you when I first heard Mastodon's 'crack in the skye' CDI wasn't that keen on it at first , after hearing it a few times more it started to grow on me , it's a great album.
I'm so much looking forward to seening them when they come to my hometown shortly this month.
